Koi & Pond Care FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you ship live koi across Canada?

Yes. We ship live koi nationwide by overnight/express courier, with oxygen packing, heat packs in cold weather, and weather holds to keep your fish safe. Every order is backed by our Live Arrival Guarantee.

How are the koi packaged for shipping?

Each koi is bagged with pure oxygen, cushioned, and insulated. In cold weather we add heat packs, and we only ship early in the week so fish never sit in a depot over the weekend.

What is your Live Arrival Guarantee?

We guarantee your koi arrives alive and healthy. If there's an issue, record an unboxing video of the sealed bag and contact us within 2 hours of delivery for a replacement or refund of the fish.

Can I see the exact koi before it ships?

Absolutely — just ask and we'll send photos or a short video of your specific fish before it leaves us.

What koi varieties do you sell?

We carry Kohaku, Doitsu Kohaku, Tancho Kohaku, Showa (including Gin Rin & Kin Ki Showa), Chagoi (Gin Rin), Kujaku (including Doitsu Kujaku), Asagi (Gin Rin), Shusui, Goshiki (including Gin Rin), Shiro Utsuri (Gin Shiro) and Benigoi — all hand-selected for quality. Individual specimens rotate as they sell.

How do I care for koi in a Canadian winter?

Stop feeding below about 8°C, keep a hole open in the ice with a floating de-icer and aeration, and never smash the ice. See our Care Guides for a full winter checklist.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — pond supply orders over $99 ship free within Canada.

What do I need to start a koi pond?

A properly sized pond, good filtration and aeration, a water conditioner, a test kit, and quality koi food. Our Care Guides walk you through everything step by step.
